A big part of the success of our portfolio companies lies in their existing customer base with a steady cash flow. When our expertise is added to the R&D and operations of the company the net profit margin goes up, thus freeing up cash for further investments and acquiring additional funding if necessary.

Next to that SoftwareAssociates is able to add more (recurring) business to the same company by providing the existing customer base with new products and services of other SoftwareAssociates portfolio companies. Of course that also works the other way around. Taking a fresh look at the existing products and defined target markets, together with the existing management, often reveals new cash generating opportunities not noticed before.

Most of the time existing human resources of the company can be reallocated to grow the business further, and also internationalizing the existing product offerings is a way forward.
